Students’ point of view on evolution in Texas

The Fort Wayne Journal Gazette has an interesting article on the Texas science standards from someone we don’t hear from all that often: Students. I think it’s particularly interesting to hear the students describing how their teachers respond to the task of discussing evolution.

  1. The problem is that their is still major misunderstandings about what a scientific theory is and it's role in science. I'm always concerned when I hear students talk about creationism being another theory. Well it can't be a scientific theory. And the teacher who said "it's just another theory" I question his science understanding. Just how do you Mr. Teacher test the theory of creationism scientifically?
