Tuesday Crustie: Houston, we have a crayfish

Texas has 39 crayfish species. This is one of the two most recently discovered, Fallicambarus houstonensis – named after Texas statesman and the city, of course.

This picture comes from an online supplement to the book Texas Crawdads. I recently got a copy of this book, and it is very good and very useful.
