I am the program coordinator for the biology master’s degree at my university, so I obviously have a vested interest in this question. A conversation about it broke out on Twitter on Sunday, which I present here without commentary (yet).
Also, one thing that strikes me from your Storify is how people in some fields seem not to be aware that some features of their field--such as whether or not MSc students get funding--are not universal.
